Happy 4th of July

So Yesterday morning, at 6:30 a.m., the wife and I found ourselves
at work and not happy.  By 4:30 p.m. we were 370 miles away and
in the middle of Kansas.
July 3rd is our anniversary and 99% of the time we spend it in
Kansas with my Parents. With the pressure of our
Spring & Summer catalog being bigger and very little time
to produce it. I thought we would stay and work. I
Called H.R. and by 7:30 a.m. we were heading to pick
up our son and go.
My home town is one mile square and in the 70's-80's
had the most specialized hospital in the State. It's nickname
was the "Mini Mayo". Imagine DeLorean's and Porche's

on the bumpy brick road, not yellow brick road.
The big gates in the last picture actually were built, along
with a damn around the whole town, by the Army corp of engineers.
They close and keep the town from flooding and it
works only smaller towns down the river
now flood much worse.
One Major motion picture was filmed here in 1952 starring
William  Holden. Later in 1983 a sequel "Made for TV" movie
was made starring
Rosanna Arquette. I do appear in the Sequel
as a trumpet player in the band and a baseball player walking
through this park.

After a three day weekend

So tomorrow it's floral time. We try to show all
of the florals being used in a design. So this
means that they have to be shot separate in a
"silo" to show exactly what it looks like.
A "sillo" is when a picture on the page has no background,
It just kind of floats there. Another popular name for this
is a "knockout" just depends on how you were brought up.

It's a very different line than usual. These are
shots fron the cage.

These are part of the new Girl theme this year.

We happen to have one of the largest Easter themes
out there. For some reason competitors are drop
it left and right from there lines, that's good for us!

Not everything in these shots will make the
2013 Spring & Summer line. We should
know better tomorrow since today was the
last day of our show in Dallas Texas.
Can't wait 104 degrees tomorrow and
were in the warehouse!!!

Antique prop shopping

Next week starts our Spring & Summer catalog
and we needed to go prop shopping and Here's
what we found. 40,000 square feet of antiquing,
That's 10,000 square feet per hour it took in this joint.
First room we went into and BAM!
found that cool little boat for a bargain.
The ladder was found in hour three.

Nothing say's Spring and Summer
like a vintage baseball bat.

Wacky carpenter rulers.

This year we have a little Girl's room theme
and a little boy's room theme, you can guess
which room these will be for.

Always need interesting things to stack
merchandise on and get the photo going vertical.

All three of us love pulleys and it looks like we
purchased softballs instead of baseballs so
the bats are now softball bats instead of baseball.
Pretty good haul. I hate prop shopping! but today
we got out and saw lots of old people and talked to
bored house wives and kicked around a game plan
as a team. It was fun!
