Happy 4th of July

So Yesterday morning, at 6:30 a.m., the wife and I found ourselves
at work and not happy.  By 4:30 p.m. we were 370 miles away and
in the middle of Kansas.
July 3rd is our anniversary and 99% of the time we spend it in
Kansas with my Parents. With the pressure of our
Spring & Summer catalog being bigger and very little time
to produce it. I thought we would stay and work. I
Called H.R. and by 7:30 a.m. we were heading to pick
up our son and go.
My home town is one mile square and in the 70's-80's
had the most specialized hospital in the State. It's nickname
was the "Mini Mayo". Imagine DeLorean's and Porche's

on the bumpy brick road, not yellow brick road.
The big gates in the last picture actually were built, along
with a damn around the whole town, by the Army corp of engineers.
They close and keep the town from flooding and it
works only smaller towns down the river
now flood much worse.
One Major motion picture was filmed here in 1952 starring
William  Holden. Later in 1983 a sequel "Made for TV" movie
was made starring
Rosanna Arquette. I do appear in the Sequel
as a trumpet player in the band and a baseball player walking
through this park.
